Aidan Moesby will run 3 workshops over the festival period exploring the themes of Emotion, Care and Climate. These will be presented as masterclasses where active learning through participation is prioritised.
Emotion: How do we work with emotions in a nuanced manner without the need to explicitly talk about emotions. We will explore the world of emotions through the metaphor of weather, drawing on cultural references and landscape. Reflecting on our own worlds how can we identify current and forecast future emotional weather. We will think together how we can apply this to our work, to create texturally rich emotional landscapes.
Care: How do we actively embed care in our practice? How do we care for ourselves, the work, the audience and those beyond? We will explore meaningful and authentic inclusion, equity and accessibility. By sharing our experiences we will devise strategies of nurture and care for ourselves and those we live and work with.
Climate: The consequences of the climate crisis are beginning to impact everyone, practically, physically and emotionally. This workshop will explore how we can make work within, and about, this crisis in a sensitive, nuanced sustainable manner. From what we write about, to the materials we use and how we tour, we will think together about the deep interconnectedness of our actions and the consequences.
These three workshops will be concluded by a final event which will consist of a conversation between Aidan and Kjersti. Aidan will talk about his practice before reflecting together on the themes of Emotion, Care and Climate and how we can embed these in future practice. Some of the results which have been produced will be highlighted. There will be a short Q and A.
Aidan will work towards producing a podcast on the theme of Snow. This is the first of a series of podcasts exploring specific weather types through an exploration of culture, science, personal reflection and conversation
The workshop will be in English
