Apply for residency

New performing arts ensembles can apply for residency. The Theater Park aims to support the ensemble during the start-up phase and to further map the ensemble’s development potential and practical and artistic needs.

Teaterparken is one of few residences for performing arts in Norway. Here you can get professional support from selected consultants. You get access to various resources; artistic, technical but also other, for example within production, production management and audience work. Current applicants can be already established companies but also young companies who have a well-defined artistic project.

We give opportunities to show your work; publicly or internally, as a finished performance or in process.

The background for the residence program is to give international impulses to the performing art scenes and networking across countries, expressions and disciplines. To connect different art scenes; locally, nationally and internationally. Experience shows that visiting artists make good social and professional contacts and that new constellations and collaborations often arise after a stay with us.

-Who can apply

The program is primarily an offer to performing artists who have demonstrated high artistic quality over a long period of time. Teaterparken will open up especially to performing artists who want to develop their projects in collaboration with Grenland Friteater and local communities in Porsgrunn.

The groups themselves cover their own travel and diet expenses. Projects with financing must expect to pay some for the stay. Teaterparken can, by agreement, offer assistance during the planning of the stay, and help to obtain other financing for the stay.

-How to apply

An application is submitted with a project description, what the residency stay should contain (room, artistic input, technique, etc.) and CVs for all participants. Length of the stay and the timeperiod preferred.

Applications are processed continuously.
